Jaime Luchuck Is The Next Internet Millionaire

Congratulations to Jaime Luchuck, the Regina born actress, author, and entrepreneur who was announced yesterday as the winner of Joel Comm's Next Internet Millionaire online reality show. Her book From Cubicle Slave to the Next Internet Millionaire sold $70,000 in a period of one week, and according to her blog, has hit #1 in two business categories on Amazon.com. Those sales numbers allowed her to beat out Charles Trippy's Viral Video Fever in the final challenge to become The Next Internet Millionaire. Jaime took home $25,000 cash (in a briefcase, how cliche) for her troubles.

Trippy's Viral Video Fever sold $39,000, (I'm still waiting for my DVD's Charles) meaning Joel Comm's combined JV with Charles and Jaime made over $100,000 in a one week period. Not bad.

Jaime's book showed up at my place on Monday and I was just flipping through the last pages as the final episode came online yesterday. I have to say it was tough to put down. Having watched the show from the first episode I found myself wishing I could have sat in on all those gurus while they unloaded their techniques - but Jaime's book was the next best thing to being there.

Not only does she give a behind the scenes account of the show, she also goes into detail about what all the best Internet marketers had to say in the classroom portions of the show. Her writing style is fairly informal, which made for an easy read. She did a great job of telling the story of her life at the same time as telling the story of the show and what she learned. I definitely recommend the read. I know it has inspired me to get going on a few projects that have been sitting on the backburner in my mind (look for them soon).

Congratulations Jaime! Looking forward to hearing great things from you in the future. And if you're at home in Toronto this week, make sure to get down to the Riderville cabaret to show your support for the Riders in the Grey Cup this weekend.

P.S. Jaime was in a hot air balloon with Charles and his girlfriend when he proposed. How awkward would that be?
